VEO, a company based in Cameroon, acts as the Data Controller for the VEO PRO mobile application. We are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with Law No. 2024/017 on the protection of personal data in Cameroon.
This policy describes how we process your data when you use VEO PRO, the tool intended for authorised points of sale for the automated validation of Canal+ subscriptions.
1. Data We Collect and Why
We adhere to the principle of data minimisation, collecting only the information necessary to provide the service.
A. Identification and Contact Data
We collect the operator's last name and first name, the trade name of the point of sale, the email address and the phone number. This data is essential to manage your user account, authenticate your authorisation and communicate with you about the service.
B. Transaction and Service Data
For the core of the service, we collect information about transactions, in particular the Canal+ subscriber number, the plan validated, the amount, the date and time of the operation, and the serial number of the decoder. This information is used exclusively for the execution and automatic validation of subscriptions with our partner Canal+.
C. Technical and Usage Data
We record your IP address, the type of device and activity logs. This data is used to secure the application, prevent fraud and ensure the proper technical operation of the service, which constitutes a legitimate interest of VEO. We may also collect geolocation if it is strictly required by the terms of your authorisation and you have enabled it.
2. Legal Basis and Retention Period
The processing of your data is based primarily on the performance of the contract between VEO and your point of sale.
Your data is kept for the period strictly necessary to fulfil the purposes. Account data is kept for as long as the authorisation is active, then archived in accordance with legal limitation periods (for example, for accounting evidence or in the event of a dispute). Security logs are kept for a short period to ensure the safety of the application.
3. Data Sharing and Security
A. Recipients
Your data is neither sold nor rented. It is shared only with:
Canal+: Our business partner receives the transaction data necessary for the activation and management of the subscription you validate.
Service providers: The entities (such as hosting providers) that help us operate the application. They are contractually bound to guarantee the confidentiality and security of your data.
Authorities: We disclose your data if Cameroonian law, a court decision or an official requisition so requires.
B. Security
VEO implements robust technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss or alteration. This includes encryption of communications and strict access controls for our staff. In the event of a major security incident, we will inform you as well as the Cameroonian data protection authority.
4. Your Rights (Data Subject Rights)
In accordance with the legislation in force, you have the following rights, which you may exercise at any time:
